Cold conditions to subside in Odisha
Normal life in several parts of Odisha has been affected due to intense cold conditions that have been prevailing for the past week. Jharsuguda and Rourkela recorded a minimum temperature of 8 degrees C in the past 24 hours.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday predicted that the cold conditions are likely to prevail for the two days as there is a probability of a rise in minimum or night temperature in subsequent days.
“No large change in the minimum temperature (night temperature) for next 3 days and thereafter rise by 2-4 degrees C over the districts of Odisha,” informed IMD.
Day 1 (Valid upto 0830 hrs IST of 09.01.2025): Shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the district of Keonjhar, Jharsuguda, Kalahandi , Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada.
Yellow Warning: Dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the district of Sundargarh, Kandhamal.
Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 09.01.2025 to 0830 hrs IST of 10.01.2025): Shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the district of Angul, Dhenkanal, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Jharsuguda.
Yellow Warning: Dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the district of Sundargarh, Kandhamal.
Day 3 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 10.01.2025 to 0830 hrs IST of 11.01.2025): Shallow to moderate fog very likely to occur at one or two places over the district of Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Angul, Dhenkanal.
