As the cold wave continued to sweep across Odisha for the second week in a row, the quaint little town of Phulbani recorded the lowest temperature, 7 degree Celsius on Saturday, making it the coldest place in the State for the day.

As per the data provided by the Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar, after Phulbani, the tourist attraction Daringibadi and Koraput town, each recorded a minimum temperature of 7.5 degree Celcius.

Similarly, the mercury dipped to 9.5 degrees in Sundargarh while Titilagarh and Bhawanipatna recorded 9.8 and 10 degrees respectively. As far as the other towns are concerned, Sonepur recorded 10.5 degrees while Keonjhar, Bolangir and Angul recorded 11 degrees each.

The towns of Malkangiri and Chandbali in Bhadrak recorded a minimum temperature of 11.5 and 11.6 degrees, respectively.

As per the MeT department, the cold condition will continue to prevail for the next 4 to 5 days and there will not be any changes in the situation.

The Twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded 13 degree Celsius each, as the lowest temperature for the day.

Both Paralakhemundi and Rayagada registered minimum temperature of 16 and 17.2 degree Celcius.

to the sudden chill, normal life was affected in the western and southern parts of the State with the weather office advising people to restrict outdoor movements.
