Normal life was adversely hit after the maximum (Day) temperature in Bhubaneswar touched 40 degree Celsius mark by 11:30 am on Saturday. The Capital city had recorded a maximum temperature of 40.8 degree during the peak hour of the day.

As per India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) Regional Centre, heat wave conditions will prevail across Odisha as there is a possibility of rise in mercury by 3 to 5 degrees from today.

Apart from Bhubaneswar, Jharsuguda and Chandbali recorded maximum temperature of 37.8 degrees, followed by Balasore (37.2) Keonjhar (36.8) and Hirakud recorded maximum temperature of 36.6 degrees by 11:30 am.
