Angul emerged as the hottest place in the State with the day temperature soaring to 42.1 degree Celsius on Saturday. Odisha Capital logged the second highest temperature of the day with 41.7 degree Celsius. 

As per the latest weather report, 22 places in the State recorded maximum temperature of 40 degree or above. 

Dhenkanal, Deogarh and Boudh have logged temperature of 41.5 degree Celsius while Bolangir, Paralakhemundi, Cuttack and Baripada recorded 41 degree Celsius.

As per the midday weather bulletin of IMD Bhubaneswar regional centre, the sky in Bhubaneswar which remains mainly clear during the day will become partly cloudy towards afternoon/evening. 

The weather agency said the maximum temperature (Day Temperature) is  very likely to gradually rise by 3 to 5 degree Celsius at many places over the districts of Interior Odisha during the next three days.

"Due to Northwesterly-Westerly dry air and high solar insolation Maximum temperature (Day Temperature) is very likely to gradually rise by 3 to 5°C at many places over the districts of Interior Odisha during next 3 days and no large change thereafter over the districts of Odisha," Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar said in a release.

"Consequently maximum temperature (Day Temperature) likely to be more than 40°C at many places over the districts of Odisha and likely to be above normal by 2 to 4°C during next 2 days over the districts of Odisha and likely to be above normal by 3 to 5°C over the districts of Interior Odisha in subsequent 3 days," it added.  

The IMD further said heat wave condition is very likely at isolated places over the districts of Sonepur, Boudh and Bolangir on April 25, over the districts of Sonepur, Boudh, Bolangir and Mayurbhanj on April 26 and over the districts of Sonepur, Boudh, Bolangir, Mayurbhanj and Kalahandi on April 27, 2022.
