In the light of Indian Meteorological Department's (IMD) prediction of scorching heatwave conditions for the next four days in several districts in the State, the Special Relief Commissioner’s office on Sunday issued an advisory detailing dos and don'ts for the masses in general.

Here is the SRC advisory:

• Steps be taken to circulate the warning message among the public 
• Heat is tolerable for the general public but slight health concern for vulnerable people (viz: infants, elderly and sick people) 

• Public may be advised to take precautionary measures for hot weather while going outside during noontime (around 11.00 am to 3.30 pm) 
• Situation may be closely monitored and action as deemed necessary be taken

Meanwhile, Odisha continues to sizzle under intense heatwave condition as 28 places record temperature above 40 degree Celsius. Sonepur emerged the hottest at 43.8 degree Celsius followed by Bhubaneswar (43.3), Angul (43.1), Talcher (43), Bolangir (42.3), Jharsuguda (42.2), Boudh (42), Sambalpur (41.7), Titlagarh & Dhenkanal (41.6), Nayagarh (41.5), Cuttack (41.1).

Weather Forecast: Day-1 (valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 25.04.2022)

Light rain/thunderstorms are very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput and Malkangiri.

Yellow Warning( Be updated): Heatwave condition likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Sonepur, Boudh and Bolangir.
