Amid flood in Balasore, Yellow Warning issued for 10 Odisha districts

Amidst the flood in Balasore, the regional weather department on Thursday issued a yellow warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall for 10 Odisha districts. The IMD has predicted that several parts of Odisha will experience rainfall along with thunderstorms and lightning activities today and tomorrow.

The yellow warning has been issued for Bargarh, Deogarh, Jharsuguda, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Angul, Boudh, Kandhamal, Sonepur, and Sambalpur.

Meanwhile, the South West Monsoon triggered heavy rainfall in Odisha. As per IMD, the depression over Jharkhand and adjoining north Chhattisgarh is likely to weaken into a low-pressure area over the same region during the next few hours.

The low pressure will trigger more rainfall in the coming two days, it was learnt.

Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Cuttack, Kandhamal, Boudh, Sonepur, Bargarh.

Day 3 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 20.09.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 21.09.2024)
Yellow Warning: Thunderstorms with lightning is very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Gajapati, Ganjam, Bargarh, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh.

Day 4 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 21.09.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 22.09.2024)
Yellow Warning: Thunderstorms with lightning is very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Gajapati, Ganjam, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar.
