7 places in Odisha record max temp of 43 and above; Boudh sizzles at 44.6

Boudh recorded the highest temperature in Odisha at 44.6°C, severely impacting daily life. The IMD reports that 27 locations in Odisha surpassed 40°C, with seven exceeding 43°C. A yellow warning remains effective through May 5, indicating persistent heatwave conditions.

Heatwave continues in Odisha

Boudh became the hottest place in Odisha with mercury touching 44.6 degrees on Friday. Normal life was adversely hit here due to heat and humid conditions. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed that 27 places in Odisha recorded mercury crossing the 40-degree mark today.

Apart from this, seven places in Odisha recorded a maximum temperature of 43 degrees or above on Friday. The districts which recorded a maximum temperature of 43 degrees or above are: Boudh (44.6), Titilagarh (44), Nuapada (43.9), Bolangir (43.4), Malkangiri (43.3), Paralakhemundi (43.3) and Bhawanipatna (43).

As per IMD, there is no probability of a change in the heatwave conditions in different parts of Odisha in the next 48 hours. A yellow warning for heatwave conditions has been issued for several districts till May 5, 2024.
