Several places in Western Odisha are now reeling under intense heat wave conditions with four places recording a maximum temperature of 46 degrees or above.

As per IMD data, Titilagarh recorded the highest maximum temperature of 46.6 degree Celsius on Friday. Apart from Titilagarh, mercury also touched 46.4 degrees in Bolangir, 46.2 in Sonepur and 46 degrees in Bargarh district.

The maximum temperature settled at 45.2 degrees in Sambalpur which had recorded the highest temperature by 2:30 pm today.

IMD further informed that eight places in Odisha recorded a maximum temperature of 45 degrees and above on Friday.
