Boudh: An enormous fish reportedly weighing over 25 kilograms was caught by a local fisherman from Mahanadi River in Boudh district this morning.

The fish was caught by one Sripati Behera of Tutusinga village under Sadar block of Boudh district. The fish which locals call 'Buda' resembled catfish.

Behera had gone fishing in the nearby Mahanadi River early morning today when huge the fish was trapped in his net.

After the news spread, locals from Tutusinga village and nearby areas gathered to see the giant fish. The video of the fish has also gone viral on various social media platforms. The giant fish was later sold at Rs 5,500 in a nearby market.

Prior to that in June, Behera had caught a huge fish weighing around 40 kg from Mahanadi river and sold it at Rs 10,000 in a local market.

Earlier on October 2, an exotic and expensive variety of fish, locally known as Teleia, was caught by a fisherman in Chandanipal area of Dhamra in Bhadrak district.

The huge fish weighed around 22 kilograms and was sold to a Kolkata-based businessman for a whopping Rs 1,43,000.
