Youths annoy herd of elephants, netizens irked over irresponsible act; watch

Animal behaviour is unpredictable. Moreover, one can never expect the behaviour of wild animals, especially in their natural habitat. It is always advised not to bother wild animals and not to get closer to them. Even, everyone needs to follow some rules while venturing into the wild.

However, some irresponsible people break the rules and unnecessarily bother wild animals. Human-animal conflicts are most often reported and the consequences are sometimes harsh. Either humans or animals or both suffer the consequences.

Recently, a video has surfaced on the internet that shows a group of youths annoying a herd of elephants while the jumbos are crossing the road.

The video shows several youths on a road while two jumbos can be seen at a distance. From the body posture it seems, the youths are holding stones and set to pelt them at the elephants.

The next moment shows the entire herd including several elephants along with small calves. However, without bothering the youths, the herd walked to the other side of the road. But, the irresponsible youths once again tried to get closer to the herd.

Indian Forest Services (IFS) official Susanta Nanda shared the video with a note reading: Ridiculous crowd behaviour. An elephant herd with young calves can be highly aggressive. Don’t put your life at stake. Allow them safe passage. They have the first right (sic)

Undoubtedly, any animal would get aggressive when they sense any danger approaching their offspring. And when it is a wild animal, especially an elephant, lion or tiger, the consequences could be fatal.

The video has amassed massive views and netizens have vented out their anger for such irresponsible acts of the youths. Moreover, users have demanded to arrest the youths.
