An Italian woman passenger has been arrested by the Sahar Police for allegedly creating ruckus and going partially naked on board Abu Dhabi-Mumbai flight on Monday.

The woman, identified as Paola Perruccio, reportedly created ruckus on the flight and insisted to sitting in business class despite having an economy ticket. She also assaulted the crew members of the flight and, took off some of her clothes and walked up and down aisle in a partially naked state.

The incident took place on Air Vistara flight UK 256 that took off from Abu Dhabi at 2.03 am IST on Monday and landed in Mumbai in the early hours of the same day. The police received complaint from the cabin crew and arrested the woman upon landing at the airport.

"We confirm that there was an unruly passenger on Vistara flight UK 256 operating from Abu Dhabi to Mumbai on 30 January 2023. In view of the continued unruly conduct and violent behaviour, the captain issued a warning card and made a decision to restrain the customer," said Vistara spokesperson.

"The pilot made regular announcements to assure the other customers onboard of their safety and security. In accordance with the guidelines and our stringent SOPs, the security agencies on-ground were informed to take immediate action upon arrival," the airline's official informed.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Police has filed a chargesheet in connection with the case.

Though she was arrested by the Sahar Police after landing of the plane yesterday, the Italian passenger was later granted bail by the court.
