In a shocking incident, a woman had to literally jump out of a moving car after being harassed allegedly by an Uber driver. The matter came to the fore after the victim narrated her ordeal and shared a video on her Instagram.

The woman with the username @littleshssisters, Manali Gupta recalled the horrific incident while she was on her way to pick up her daughter from the school.

Sharing her story, she wrote, “During my recent Uber ride to pick up my daughter from school, I was engaged in a phone call when the driver abruptly attempted to snatch my phone. Startled, I protested, and he responded with verbal abuse. Fearing for my safety, I urgently requested him to stop the car, but he ignored my pleas and sped up.”

She further added, “In desperation, I moved to the other end of the seat and managed to exit the vehicle while it was still moving. The driver then accelerated away. I urge Uber to take immediate action to ensure the safety of its users and consider banning this driver named Shyam Sundar (2018 Eon, RJ14 TE 5679) to prevent such incidents in the future.”

The incident soon went viral on Instagram with social media users demanding immediate action against the Uber driver.

“This is unacceptable @uber_india kindly take action against that cab guy and u ask for insurance while riding but what about personal security. Kindly make the cab people more trained towards women. Justice needs to be done,” commented a user.

Another user wrote, “Uber India we need the answer … where is the safety ??? Security??? What if her daughter was with her? We need answer to this why this thing is happening.”

“Understand this even if Uber suspend him what will happen? Will he stop? No, it’s a failure of govt and society both. I have had my bad experiences for both Uber and Ola and nothing helped,” shared a third user.
