Amid a rise in cases, everyone is advised to undergo Covid-19 test and take vaccine. Now, the government has also advised to take Covid-19 booster dose. But, have you ever heard or seen fishes or crabs undergoing Covid-19 test. Well, amid rising cases, China has started testing seafood like fishes and crabs for the Covid-19 virus.

Now, the video of the testing has gone viral on social media.

Shared by South China Morning Post, the video has garnered thousands of likes and comments. In the video, we can see health workers testing seafood such as fish and crabs. The health workers are also wearing PPE kits as they collect swabs from the mouth of the fishes and shells of crabs.

The caption of the video reads, “Videos of pandemic medical workers giving live seafood PCR tests have gone viral on Chinese social media."

The video has left many social media users baffled who took to the comment section and gave hilarious reactions.

A user commented, “What’s next? Build quarantine facilities for those fish tested positive.”

Similarly, another commented, “Everybody already knows the animal/human/human transmission – don’t think it would make the jump to marine life but weirder things have happened. So yeah, test away.”

Another user wrote, "Thought it was a joke. But in fact, it’s consistent with the ideological trap that’s led to cascading and insane misdirection of resources! Quite scary!"

A fourth user commented, “Test mealworm for Covid,” with laughing emojis.

Meanwhile, China is witnessing its worst week of infections since mid-May. The country has reported more than 18,000 local Covid cases in the last seven days amid worrying outbreak in Hainan, Tibet and Xinjiang that stranded thousands of tourists.
