In a new twist to the case pertaining to the elopement of a married woman with her boyfriend after locking up her father-in-law in Ganganagar area of Bhubaneswar, the boyfriend of the woman with whom she eloped turned out to be a minor.

The parents of the 17-year-old boy have opened up on the case and threatened to file a case of kidnap against the woman. They accused the woman of manipulating their son into the relationship and brainwashing him.

According to sources, the woman, Namita Nayak, lived with her husband Pradeep Nayak, an assistant badminton coach, in a rented house in Ganganagar area. She tied the nuptial knot with Nayak in February this year, sources informed.

Taking advantage of her husband’s absence, Namita allegedly developed an illicit relationship with the minor while he took tuitions from her for his Class X exams.

This isn’t the first time. The couple had earlier eloped too. But, the boy’s parents, who live in Nayagarh’s Dasapalla, had managed to get him back.

However, Namita once again decamped with gold jewellery worth Rs 10 lakh and Rs 1.5 lakh in cash after locking his father-in-law in his house while he was asleep. She had packed all the gold jewellery, cash after her husband left for work and was waiting for the right time to flee.

When she found her father-in-law was asleep, she locked him up in a room and fled with her boyfriend with the valuables.
Airfield police registered a case based on Pradeep’s complaint and have launched a manhunt to nab the woman and her alleged boyfriend.

Pradeep, who was aware of her illicit affair, turned suspicious after she did not receive his calls and rushed home only to find her missing. The incident has become a matter of talk in the Capital city.
