A video of ticketless passengers flooding a high-class AC coach in Sikkim Mahananda Express has left netizens in shock. The unruly behaviour of the passengers has raised serious questions about the railway security and safety of other passengers.

The video was shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, and has sparked a debate on train seats and the need for more berths in trains.

The passenger named Swati Raj shared a video that shows ticketless passengers cramped together, standing shoulder-to-shoulder in the AC 1st tier compartment. She expressed her frustration and asked Railways to take immediate action.

Sharing the video, she wrote, “This is the current situation of AC 1st tier in Mahananda 15483. I request management to check this immediately as we are not feeling safe when we are paying extra for it.”

Soon, the Railways replied to her and wrote, “We request you to please share the journey details and mobile no with us preferably in the DM. You may also raise your concern directly or dial 139 for speedy redressal.”

In a similar incident, several passengers without any ticket occupied the 2nd tier AC compartment of Kumbh Express (12369) which operates between Howrah Junction and Dehradun.
