This company pays cash incentives to employees for going on dates

Chinese firm Insta360 offers cash incentives for employees to date, aiming to boost workplace happiness amid declining birth rates. This initiative began three months ago.

While many people working in the corporate sector are coming up with different kinds of rhetoric against toxic work culture and pressure, there is a company which is providing cash incentives to its employees to go on dates.

Yes, you heard that right. Insta360, a China-based company, is providing 66 yuan, (around Rs 770) to its employees. As per media reports, the Chinese company is paying incentives for each valid social media post introducing a single individual of the same company on its internal dating platform.

Similarly, if an employee maintains the relationship for three months, the company provides a cash incentive of Rs 1,000 yuan (about Rs 11,650), to both partners.

As per media reports, the company has started the initiative three months ago. The move aims to address societal adversity and promote happiness in the workplace.

Notably, China has been witnessing a decline in birth and marriage rates in 2024.  The marriage registrations in the first three quarters of 2024 declined by 17% compared to the same period in 2023.

This decline has also contributed to a record-low birth rate, exacerbated by traditional norms linking childbearing to marriage. In 2023, China's birth rate reached 6.39 per 1,000 people, the lowest on record.
