Gujarat's traditional dance Dandiya Raas is quite popular across the world. Specifically, people celebrate Navratri with Dandiya Raas with colourful sticks and clothing. However, some people might not be aware of Talwar Raas, a traditional dance form. Because, unlike Dandiya, anyone just can't perform this traditional dance. Talwar Raas is a traditional dance form in which the performers showcase their sword skills and Rajput women are known to perform the dance.

Recently, a video surfaced on the internet that shows a group of Rajput women performing the traditional dance wielding swords. The group includes women from different age groups. Notably, Talwar Raas is a traditional dance performed by Rajput women and it is dedicated to Goddess Durga. Women dance in traditional attire to commemorate Rajpuy war heroes who laid their lives during the historic war of Bhuchar Mori in 1591. With this performance, the Rajput women keep the history alive and it is a gesture to send out a message that women today are just as powerful as they were years back.
