Sarpanch under ‘ghoonghat’ stuns IAS Tina Dabi with her fluent English speech

A woman sarpanch in Rajasthan’s Barmer has left everyone spellbound including IAS officer and UPSC 2015 topper Tina Dabi with her fluent English welcome speech during a programme. 

Sonu Kanwar, sarpanch of Jaliapa, delivered the welcome speech while dedicating it to Dabi, who is presently posted as the Collector of Barmer, under a long veil.

The speech of Kanwar not only brought thunderous rounds of applauds but also left Dabi impressed. A video of the entire incident is now going viral on various social media platforms.

Shared by a user named Kailash Singh Sodha on X, the video has been garnering much praise for the woman sarpanch with people stating that the public representative dressed in traditional attire is a testimony to women empowerment.

Lauding the lady sarpanch, a user wrote, “Indian women have great talents and wisdom” while another commented, “This is the strength of our today women of our nation.”

“English is just a language. It's simple. The women Sarpanch is taking care of the complete village. English to un ki hatho ki mael hae. Jai Bharat,” another user commented.
