Safety fans installed in Kota hostels to curb suicide, initiative draws mixed reactions
Sometimes, students feel sad for not doing well in their studies and end their lives. There were many instances of students committing suicide in Kota of Rajasthan.
To help prevent these tragic incidents, authorities decided to install special fans in the hostels.
These fans were designed to stop anyone from using them to hurt themselves.
This idea became a topic of conversation on social media, and some people did not think it was a good solution.
Many believed that instead of just using fans to prevent harm, it would be better to create a supportive environment for students.
This could include providing mental health counselling and other kinds of help.
People thought that these efforts could stop students from feeling so sad that they wanted to hurt themselves.
On Friday, a social media page called ANI MP/CG/Rajasthan shared a video on a platform called X Formerly Twitter.
The video showed how the special fans worked.
If someone tried to use them to harm themselves, the fans would stop them.
Naveen Mittal, who was in charge of the hostels, talked about the growing number of students who were hurting themselves and what the school was doing to help.

People watched the video and shared their thoughts.
One person said that instead of just focusing on the fans, it was important to take care of students' mental health.
Another person thought the idea of the fans was good.
Someone else believed that it was not enough to stop students from hurting themselves.
They thought parents should talk with their children and ask them how they felt before it was too late.
Another comment questioned if the fans were really the right solution.
Someone else said that it seemed strange to think that fans could solve the problem, since students liked fans for staying cool, not for hurting themselves.
In the end, people had different opinions about the fans.
While the fans might help save a few lives, many believed that it was more important to take care of students' emotions and mental well-being, so they would not feel so desperate that they wanted to hurt themselves.
