An alert RPF constable showed his heroics by saving the life of a man who slipped while boarding a moving train at Purnea Railway Station under Katihar Division of NFR in Bihar.

It was a miraculous escape for the elderly commuter as he was about to slip into the gap between the train and platform and get crushed by the train before he was pulled away by the RPF staff. 

The RPF constable identified as Sanjiv Kumar Singh has been earning praises from all quarters for his heroics and presence of mind. The video was shared by Northeast Frontier Railway.

The caption reads, “Alert RPF Constable Sanjiv Kumar Singh, on-duty at the Purnea station under Katihar division of NFR saved a passenger who tried to board a running train today at about 11-00 am.”

In the video, we can see a moving train reaching the Purnea station. However, a passenger tries to board the train even before it halts at the station. He slips and is about to fall into the gap between the train and the platform. But, luckily, the on-duty constable Sanjiv swings into action and drags him out.

Netizens showered Sanjiv with praise for his exemplary and swift action.

“Salute to the commitment and courageous effort to save the lives of passengers,” commented a user while another wrote, “Great job by Sanjiv.”

A third user wrote, “so proud of the RPF.”

Netizens have also urged the Bihar government to reward such brave hearts who risk their lives to save the life of others.
