Viral video
When it comes to Indian street food, taste often wins over everything else but a viral video circulating on X (formerly Twitter) has left many questioning what goes on behind the scenes. The clip, featuring a food stall owner preparing a giant paratha in the most unorthodox way, has triggered a storm of disgust and debate online.
Unlike a regular paratha that fits neatly in the palm, this oversized dough was balanced by the vendor across his forearms, brushing against his sleeves and even reaching dangerously close to his armpits. The unusual cooking technique quickly overshadowed the paratha itself, with viewers horrified at the lack of hygiene.

The video, captioned “Paseena Paratha: Just one of the many reasons why you should eat at home,” has already crossed 300,000 views on X and continues to attract eyeballs for all the wrong reasons.
Reactions poured in thick and fast. One user quipped, “Usko paseena nahi hand oil bolte hai,” while another tried to reason, “Wouldn’t the sweat evaporate on the hot kadhai?”
Others were less forgiving, with comments like “Zero sense of cleanliness or safety” and “Hygiene left the chat.”
Some users took it further, declaring they had stopped eating out altogether. Another viewer dubbed it the “bimari paratha,” while one lamented, “Our street food is amongst the tastiest, but once you see the preparation, you can’t eat.”
While the clip may have been intended as quirky street food content, it has instead sparked a serious conversation about hygiene standards. As street food remains a cultural favourite in India, netizens hope such viral moments serve as a wake-up call for safer, cleaner practices.
