Safety and security of women seems to be a fantasy in Pakistan. This statement fits to a recent incident in the country where a young pregnant woman was kicked by a security guard.

The pregnant woman was even kicked by the security guard posted outside an apartment building in Karachi. The shameful act was captured in a CCTV camera installed nearby.

The grisly CCTV footage shows the security guard arguing with the woman and then slapping her. As the woman fell on the ground and tried to get up, the man kicked her in the face again.

The guard reportedly thrashed the woman outside an apartment building in Gulistan-e-Jauhar area on August 5. The incident triggered a massive outrage on social media. Subsequently, the guard was taken into custody an inquiry has been initiated.

The woman, identified as Sana, works as a domestic help at an apartment building in Noman Grand City situated in Karachi. On August 3, she reportedly asked her son to deliver her food to an apartment, however, when her son tried to enter the apartment's premises, the guards there prohibited him from entering.

“When I came down to inquire, one of the office bearers got angry and started abusing me. Then, he asked the security guard to beat me. I am 5-6 months pregnant. When he hit me, I became unconscious due to the pain," Sana said.

It is another such gruesome incident that exposes the Islamic country when it comes to women’s safety. According to a report, a total of 157 women were kidnapped, 112 women were a victim of physical assault and 91 women were raped across Pakistan in the month of June alone.
