Youth 'romances' honey bee colony for reel

'India is not for beginners.' This phrase is often used to convey that India can be challenging for first-time visitors. For people unfamiliar with India's culture, it can be extremely overwhelming. The chaotic and unpredictable nature, complexity and diversity of the country can leave the first-time visitors stunned. Moreover, the way of life of people in India can be surprising for others. In this internet age, several videos surface frequently in which people are spotted engaged in activities that are uncommon to find elsewhere. Recently, one such video surfaced on social media showing a youth 'romancing' a honey bee colony, for a reel.

The trend of creating and sharing short-form videos has gained popularity with the boost of social media use. People are going to any extent for reels to garner views and boost their popularity. However, recently a video surfaced that will leave you stunned and make you laugh, at the same time.

In the video, the youth can be seen standing close to a bee hive and making romantic gestures following the lyrics of a romantic song.

At first, the youth is seen brushing his hand over the honey bee hive. Two of his friends can also be seen on the other side of the hive. Without any special gear or protection, the youth continues to move his hand on the hive. Surprisingly, he also brushes his head on the hive. However, none of the bees attack the youth.

Honey bee stings are quite painful. These stingers attack when they sense any threat. Honeybees release a venom called melittin, which causes pain, inflammation and swelling. People experience discomfort for a while and the pain subsides within a few hours. However, when a bee colony attacks anyone, it can be life-threatening. But, youths in the video seem to be least bothered about the swarm attack and continue to enjoy making reels.

While the origin of the video couldn't be sourced, it is shared on Facebook by Guddu Things. The video has gone viral and garnered over 10 million views. Moreover, the comments section is flooded with hilarious comments. Well, the video certainly proves, 'not beginners, India is not even for experts' as experts do require safety gear to walk close to the bee hives.
