A viral Instagram reel by an Indian tourist has stirred up a storm online, as he warns fellow travellers against visiting Europe during the scorching summer months.
The video, titled “Mat Aao Europe” (Don’t Come to Europe), highlights his struggles with extreme heat, costly essentials, and cramped accommodations, sparking a heated debate across social media platforms.
In the reel, the visibly frustrated tourist says, “Bahut garmi hai. Jo log bhi Europe aana chahte hain ghoomne, please mat aao” (It’s way too hot. Those planning to visit Europe during summer vacations, please don’t).
He points out the lack of air conditioning or fans in many parts of Europe, making it difficult for travellers from tropical countries to adjust.
The tourist also highlights the high cost of living in European cities. From a small bottle of water costing €2–2.5 to expensive, cramped hotel rooms, his experience paints a less-than-rosy picture of a European summer holiday. He suggests visiting in cooler months like September or October instead.
The video has drawn mixed reactions. While some praised his candidness, others accused him of exaggerating. One user commented, “Europe is no more on my list now.” Another countered, “There are air conditioners on trains, trams, and hotels everywhere. Don’t spread rumours. Europe is beautiful.”
The viral debate underscores how travel experiences vary widely. While summer in Europe can indeed be challenging, it remains a dream destination for millions. Perhaps the key lies in planning wisely and knowing your comfort zone.
