In a shocking incident, a 20-year-old girl was chased and attacked by an armed man on the streets of Pune in broad daylight. However, the locals came to the rescue of the girl and overpowered the assailant before handing over them to police.
Reportedly, the whole incident was recorded on CCTV, in which the girl dressed in an orange kurta with a white scarf around her face with a backpack on her back can be seen running on the street while the armed assailant can be seen chasing her down.
Later, he hits her on the back, and she falls face first and then gets up but the man keeps attacking her, the video showed.
Meanwhile, the locals started throwing objects at the attacker to repel him and finally managed to restrain him and hand him over to the cops.

According to an NDTV report, the incident took place in the Sadashiv Peth area of Pune.
The young girl sustained injuries in the attack and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
As per reports, the attacker had been harassing the girl for quite some time.
"We had also complained to the man's father, and despite this he tried to kill our daughter today," said the girl's mother.
Meanwhile, Pune Deputy Commissioner of Police Sandeep Singh Gill said that the attacker has been arrested and charged with attempt to murder (Section 307 of the Indian Penal Code).
