7 Youths From Bihar Ditch Highway Traffic To Reach Prayagraj

According to the reports, seven youths from Bihar's Kamhariya Village in Buxar District travelled to Prayagraj via a motor-propelled boat to avoid the massive traffic congestion on highways. The youths started their journey on February 11 and arrived at Prayagraj on February 13. The group of men took a holy dip at Sangam.

Reportedly, the group of men were professional boatmen and supported their families by running boats. They took the help of Google Maps to navigate their boat in the river, even in pitch darkness.

The group of men equipped the boat with a gas cylinder, stove and food. They carried a 5 kg gas cylinder, stove, 20 litres of petrol, vegetables, flour, rice, quilt and mattresses. Moreover, they also kept another additional engine so that if one malfunctioned, they could run the boat with the second engine.

In their two-day journey, each of the boatmen swapped their turn on the steering while others rested.

They recorded their unconventional journey to Maha Kumbh Mela from Bihar through waterways and shared it on social media. As claimed, they travelled 275 km on the Ganga River on a boat owned by one of the travellers.

One of the travellers, named Manu Chaudhary claimed, "Seven of us reached Maha Kumbh by travelling 275 kilometres on the Ganga in the boat which I use to help people cross the Ganga at Ballia's Kotwa Narayanpur. I was at my maternal uncle's house in Kamhariya when we mulled over taking the holy dip in Sangam. Since there was so much traffic and the vehicles were being stopped well before Sangam, we decided that we would use the ‘vehicle’ which we have been using to earn our bread and butter."
