The Japanese tourist who was reportedly harassed and groped during Holi celebrations in Delhi has left India. The young woman has flown to Bangladesh and took to her Twitter handle to share updates on her mental health.

“I am fine in mind and body. I will explain more tomorrow,” the tourist tweeted in both English and Japanese.

The tourist had come to India and was living in Paharganj in the heart of Delhi. On the occasion of Holi, three suspects, one of whom is a minor allegedly smeared Holi on her and allegedly groped and molested her.

In the viral video, we can see the suspects smearing color on the Japanese woman even as she appears uncomfortable. It also shows one of the guys smashing an egg on her head.

Even though the young traveler hasn’t filed any complaint in this connection with the Delhi Police, the three accused were reportedly detained after Swati Maliwal, the chief of the Delhi Commission for Women, directed Delhi Police to verify the video and take necessary action.

Taking to her Twitter handle, Maliwal wrote, “Very disturbing videos getting viral on social media showing sexual harassment with foreign nationals on Holi! I am issuing notice to Delhi Police to examine these videos and arrest the perpetrators! Completely shameful behavior!”
