Youths carry huge crocodile on scooter to forest dept office in Gujarat
A viral video of two youths carrying a huge crocodile on a scooter in Gujarat has caught everyone’s attention online. The video shows the two youths on a scooter carrying the huge reptile. One of them is riding the scooter while the other youth holds it on his lap as he rides the pillion.
The sight is from Gujarat’s Vadodara after the floodwater receded. At least 40 crocodiles have been rescued from residential neighbourhoods. Teams of the forest department and NGOs have joined hands to rescue the crocodiles that have entered human settlements.
Authorities have already started the rehabilitation work and rescue of crocodiles and other animals to prevent any kind of man-animal conflict as Gujarat limps back to normalcy after the devastating floods.
The two youths have been identified as Sandeep Thakor and Raj Bhavsar. They are currently working as animal rescuers in Vadodara and were taking the crocodile to hand it over to the local forest department when the video was shot.
Located on the banks of the Vishwamitra River, Vadodara is home to a large number of crocodiles. The flood had sent the animals into many residential areas.
After being caught by the forest department, the huge crocodiles are being released back into their natural habitat. Apart from crocodiles, the forest department has also rescued snakes and turtles from residential areas after the flood.
