Groom hit with slippers by father for demanding bike in dowry, watch the consequences

Dowry is a social evil that has left several families devastated. Countless women suffer due to the dowry menace that leads to unimaginable tortures and crimes against them. However, the practice continues across India.

In this video, an elderly man is seen raising a slipper and holding the collar of a groom. Suddenly, the man starts hitting the groom with the slipper. Meanwhile, several other persons step in and stop the man, seeming to be his father, from hitting the groom. 

From the conversation it seems, the groom demanded a bike in dowry and ultimately faced the rage. 

Further, the elderly man warned the groom to keep his wife happy or else he would face dire consequences.

“Hum tumko apna khet bech ke motocycle dilwate hain tum meri bahu ko le chalo ghar. (I will sell my land and give you a motorcycle. You bring my daughter-in-law and come home),” said the groom’s father. (sic)

The crying groom also accepts the condition. Finally, the family members and relatives of the bride accompany her with a Vidai song.

The video shared on Twitter by Hasna Zaroori Hai has by now been viewed over 88K times. The video has impressed many and has gone viral on social media. While several users appreciated the immediate action against dowry demand, a few others claimed that the incident was staged by a content creator.
