Girl 'walks away without paying cab ride fare', driver follows pleading to make payment; watch

Cab drivers and their inappropriate behaviours towards passengers are becoming quite common these days in different cities across India. Different cases of harassment, overcharging, refusal to follow route, rude behaviour, reckless driving, making inappropriate comments, gestures and delayed responses are being reported frequently by daily cab passengers. However, not always passengers are the victims. Even cab drivers become victims of some unruly passengers. 

Recently, an incident has come to the fore where reportedly a female passenger walked away from the cab without paying the ride fare. Even though the driver followed her to a long distance and pleaded to make the payment, she allegedly refused to make the payment. Moreover, she also threatened him. The video of the same has surfaced on social media.

In the video, the cab driver can be seen recording the video and yelling loudly while the girl can be seen walking away without bothering. The cab driver is heard saying, "She booked my cab but now is not paying the ride fare. People like you are disgusting, you should beg on the roadside."

Suddenly, the girl turns back and says, "Don't you dare to touch me. I will cut your hands."

The driver immediately replies, "I am not touching you. You are running away from the cab, which is 3 km back."

He again repeats, "She booked my car and is not paying the fare."

Next, the video clip shows a youth talking about the incident and in general about cab drivers and riders.

The youth says, "Nowadays, many people are using cabs for travelling every day. But, the passengers are walking away without paying the fare. If you (drivers) talk too much, police may also arrest you.

While the authenticity of the video and the made claims couldn't be verified, it is shared on X (formerly Twitter) by Ghar Ke Kalesh. Sharing it further, Saurabh Bahuguna 46 wrote a caption reading, "Woman booked cab and walked away without payment. When man becomes aggressive to get his due money she threatening him. Total women appeasement and outrage ruin men." (sic)

The video has gone viral on social media and triggered outrage among netizens. Several have raised their voices in support of the cab driver.
