Girl, boy caught romancing on bike in Delhi, penalised after video goes viral

A video of a couple romancing on a speeding bike in Delhi's Mangolpuri emerged on the social media platform recently. The couple can be seen engaged in a full public display of affection on a crowded road in board daylight. 

Soon after the video went viral, Delhi Traffic Police promptly took cognizance of the matter and imposed a fine of Rs 11,000 on them.

Notably the Mangolpuri couple's video and picture were shared on Twitter on July 16, showing a boy driving the bike while a girl is seated in the front, hugging him tightly. 

A fellow commuter recorded the entire act of the couple from inside a car and shared it on Twitter which has now gone viral.

In the video, the boy can be seen by wearing a helmet but the girl was not wearing one.

"Taking cognizance of a viral video wherein the two-wheeler was being driven dangerously, @dtptraffic has booked the offender under appropriate sections. A total fine of Rs. 11,000 has been imposed. Please don't copy movies. Drive safe. Be safe," the Delhi Police wrote on Twitter on Thursday while sharing the video of the incident and challan slip.

Notably, it is not only an incident of public display of affection which has outraged the internet. Earlier a similar incident was captured in Ghaziabad where a young couple was seen in a tight embrace and kissing while riding on a motorcycle.
