Open wells, trenches and other such openings in and nearby wildlife habitats pose a threat to wild animals. Most often, wild animals venture outside their habitat in search of food or water. However, some unlucky animals get trapped in these openings. While some unlucky suffer to death, the lucky ones get rescued.

Here we bring a video that shows a rescue operation of an elephant from an open well. The best part of the video is that the jumbo expressed gratitude to the rescue team for saving its life.

In the video, the elephant can be seen climbing up from a well on the path created by an excavator. With the help of the machine, the rescue team created a perfect passageway that helped the jumbo to walk out from the well.

As soon as it walked up to the land, the elephant turned back and nodded back as a gesture of expressing gratitude to the rescuers. 
The elephant walked back into the forest while one of the members of the rescue team waved hands to the jumbo.

The incident took place in Keonjhar district of Odisha. 

Indian Forest Services (IFS) official Susanta Nanda shared the video on Twitter. As per Nanda, the staff of Champua Range rescued the sub-adult elephant from an open well.

The video has been amassing views with every passing minute and users are lauding the rescue team.
