King Cobra
A jaw-dropping video of a man calmly holding a gigantic King Cobra with his bare hands has gone viral, leaving social media users stunned. The clip, shared by Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer Parveen Kaswan, showcases not just the sheer size of the world’s longest venomous snake but also the man’s fearless composure.
Kaswan posted the 11-second video on X (formerly Twitter), accompanied by a thought-provoking caption where he wrote: “If you ever wondered about the real size of the King cobra. Do you know where it is found in India? And what to do when you see one.”
The video shows the massive reptile coiling and uncoiling in the man’s grip, its impressive length clearly visible. While the exact location of the footage remains unspecified, Kaswan’s post triggered a flood of reactions from netizens, some expressing their surprise at the man’s courage while others were concerned about his safety.

King Cobras are typically found in the forests of the Western Ghats, the Northeast, and parts of Odisha, as they can grow up to a staggering 18 feet. They are capable of delivering potent neurotoxic venom that, in large doses, can even kill an elephant. Despite their fearsome reputation, experts advise keeping a safe distance and alerting wildlife authorities if one is spotted.
This is not the first time a King Cobra rescue has captured public attention. A few days back, a Kerala woman forest officer went viral for rescuing a massive King Cobra from a stream near Peppara in Thiruvananthapuram.
While the viral video underscores the awe-inspiring beauty of India’s wildlife, it also serves as a reminder: encounters with such creatures are best left to trained professionals.
