Currently, devotees are celebrating the annual chariot festival (car festival) of Lord Jagannath and his siblings Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra, with immense enthusiasm and spiritual fervour. Well, a recent video of a Bengali woman has sparked debate on social media as she painted her baby bump with Lord Jagannath's face.

Pregnant Woman Paints Lord Jagannath on Baby Bump!

The viral video begins with the pregnant saree-clad woman flaunting her baby bump painted with Lord Jagannath's face. As the clip proceeds, the woman is seen drawing Lord Jagannath's face on her baby bump. From drawing the big, circular eyes of the revered deity to his subtle smile, and other details, and applying colours into it, the woman does the art with utmost focus and passion. After she is done with the painting, she flaunts a bright smile and poses in front of the camera.

Notably, the pregnant woman is Sohini Ganguly, a makeup artist and content creator. Sharing the video on Instagram, the Bengali woman wrote a long caption describing her inspiration behind painting Lord Jagannath on her baby bump.

While several devotees of Lord Jagannath have raised objections and stated it to be a mockery of faith and disrespect to the deity, others saw no issue with it and mentioned it as a way of expressing devotion.
