The students of the College of Engineering Trivandrum (CET) have been winning hearts by giving a fitting reply to moral policing. This story of unique protest by the students will surely bring tears to your eyes.

Students of CET wait for their bus in a waiting shed outside the college campus. They used to have chit-chat and fun with their friends there.

However, on Tuesday evening, the students witnessed something unusual. To their utter dismay, a few miscreants had cut the long steel bench in the waiting shed, making it almost impossible for two people to sit side by side.

The reason is that the miscreants did not want the college students to sit together. It was learned, that students regularly face opposition and even abuses when male and female students sit there. So, even though it appeared absurd, the students weren’t shocked by the antagonistic act.

That’s when a group of students decided to protest albeit in a novel way. As a sign of protest, a bunch of male and female students sat on each other’s lap and clicked pictures, which they shared in their internal groups.

The beautiful snaps were soon shared through WhatsApp status and social media posts. In no time, the image went viral. Soon, several other students joined the students and clicked pictures in the waiting shed.

“We never expected it to go viral,” said Arya, one of the students.

CET is a well-known institution and has always stood to injustice. A few years ago, a group of college students launched a protest against the night curfew in college hostels and won.
