Indian weddings are an emotional affair. From happy dances to tearful bidaai, we have it all. However, the most emotional part of a wedding is the bidaai ceremony which marks the 'farewell' of the bride from her parental home to her husband’s house.

The word ‘bidaai’ literally means ‘farewell’, so, in a sense, the girl is leaving her parents and maternal family forever, to enter a new household. She has also to take up a new role – from a daughter to a wife and a daughter-in-law. One of the important parts of the bidaai ceremony is the bride has to throw a handful of rice behind, which is symbolise repaying the debt of her parents for bringing her up, if that is even possible.

In one such video that is going viral on Instagram, a bride is seen doing something during her 'bidaai' ceremony that leaves everyone surprised.

In the video, the bride can be seen standing while female family members are surrounding her. One of the bride's relatives can be holding a container filled with rice and some white colour round objects. The bride is being asked to take a handful of the rice and throw it behind her.

Following which the bride is seen bowing down her head to the container and then takes a hand handful of the rice stars and starts throwing them hurriedly. Family and relatives can be heard exclaiming at the bride's gesture.

The video was shared by a user named Om Bishnoi on Instagram. The video since being shared has garnered over 3 Million views and 44K likes. Netizens were divided on the video. While some found it hilarious others wondered if the girl was forced into the marriage.

One user wrote, "Shaadi jabardasti karoge toh aisa hi hoga". Another opined that it is a fast-forward video.
