In a shocking incident, a bride ran away from her home just a day before her wedding as she wanted to pursue her studies and prepare for the UPSC examination.

According to a ZEE report, the incident took place in Uttar Pradesh’s Jaunpur. The marriage of the girl was fixed with a youth from Mirzapur on June 3.

However, the bride ran away from her home just a day before the wedding when some rituals of marriage were being performed.

Reportedly, when the bride’s family came to know that she was missing, they were shocked and dumb folded. They tried to search her everywhere but they could not find her. When the girl was not found till late evening, her father lodged a missing complaint.

Meanwhile, the bride’s family decided to marry off another girl of the family to save their honour.
The bride’s family informed the groom and his family about the situation and proposed to marry off another girl of the family. The groom and his family agreed to the proposal and the wedding was solemnised.

On the other hand, the police had also found the bride who was hiding in the village itself.

Station in-charge Ramsurikh Gautam told that the absconding bride was found at a primary school in the village itself.

When the bride was asked the reason for running away, she told that “I want to prepare for UPSC, but the family members wanted to forcefully marry me.”

She further said that she already told her mother that she wanted to prepare for IAS. Even after this, they were forcing her to marry against her will prompting her to take this step for a bright future.

She said that she had run away from home on her own and nobody had forced or advised her to take the step.

Meanwhile, the police are carrying out the probe from various angles on the basis of the complaint of the bride's father.
