In a bizarre incident, a groom has been waiting at the bride's house for over five days to get married after the latter eloped with her lover on the day of the wedding.

According to a Dainik Bhaskar report, the incident occurred in Bali in the Pali district of Rajasthan.

Reportedly, the wedding of the groom, a resident of Manadar village near Kailash Nagar in Sirohi district, was fixed with a girl of Saina village of Pali district on May 3 (Wednesday).

On the scheduled date, the groom arrived with his baraat at the bride’s house where they were welcomed as per rituals and baraatis were also given food and refreshments.

After the groom reached, the bride complained of stomach ache and vomiting and went to back side of home on the pretext of using washroom.

Later, when the pandit ji asked to bring the bride for the rituals, her family asked to delay the rituals further as she was unwell.

However, when the bride didn’t return after a long time, her family members went to search for her but she was nowhere to be found.

Reportedly, the bride had eloped with a distant relative with whom she was in a relationship. When the bride’s elopement came to the fore, her family members informed the groom and his family about this with folded hands. They pleaded with them and asked them for forgiveness.

However, the groom and his family remained adamant and refused to go home without the bride. They said they can’t return to their village without the bride as it would hamper their image and continued to stay at the bride’s house.

On the other hand, the bride’s father lodged a missing complaint and is searching for her with the help of police.
