Sometimes, people abandon their weddings and leave their to-be partners for the most bizarre and unbelievable reasons. A recent incident from Uttar Pradesh will surely leave you surprised. In this case, the bride cancelled her wedding just because the groom's family had bought less jewellery for her.

According to an Aaj Tak report, the incident took place in Manpur village under the Sikandra police station area of Kanpur Dehat.
Reportedly, the marriage of the groom, a native of Manpur village, was fixed with the girl of Banwaripur village on April 30 (Sunday).

On Sunday, the groom reached the bride's house in a grand procession with his baraat, following which the bride's family welcomed them and everything was going smoothly. The wedding ritual started with the ‘Varmala’ ceremony following which the groom’s family gave the jewellery, clothes and other things that they had bought for the bride at the wedding mandap.

However, the bride and her family were not happy with the jewellery given by the groom’s family. The bride's family was so angry that they cancelled the wedding.

Tension escalated after the cancellation of the marriage and both groom and bride's families reached the police station.

The groom's father alleged that the bride’s family had lodged a false complaint with the police that they are demanding dowries. He also alleged that the bride's family was not returning the jewellery and gifts that they had taken.

After hours of discussion at the police station, both parties reached an agreement and went to their respective homes.
