In a shocking incident, a bride allegedly called off her wedding after she saw her groom just right before the varmala ceremony in Bihar’s Bhagalpur district.

According to an AajTak report, the wedding of the bride, a native of Kahalgaon under Rasalpur police limits was fixed with a groom of Dhanaura on May 15 (Monday).

Reportedly, the groom on the fixed date arrived with his baraat at the bride’s house and everything was going smoothly till the bride and groom were brought to the wedding mandap for the varmala ceremony.

The bride after seeing the groom got angry and refused to garland the groom and apply Tilak.

She straight away announced that she would not marry him. It is said that even after persuasion, the girl did not listen to anyone and went to her room after getting down from the stage.

Later, when the bride was asked why she refused the marriage, she told that the boy is dark and much older than her age.

Reportedly, everyone tried to persuade the bride a lot including her family, but she did not agree. During this, the groom's father also kept trying to persuade the girl.

Despite hours of persuasion, the baraati had to return without the bride as she didn’t agree to marry the groom.
The bride’s father was clueless about his daughter’s action and was quoted saying by Aaj Tak, “We don't know why my daughter did this.”
