In a bizarre incident, a bride refused to marry the groom following an argument over her brother not touching the groom’s feet as a part of the Tilak ritual.

According to a Live Hindustan report, the wedding of Sarju Prasad aka Rajak’s daughter Soni of Unnao’S DNS Road was fixed with Gandhi Nagar resident Om Prakash’s elder son Vinay. Notably, Vinay works in Pvt. Firm in Mumbai.

On 6th February (Monday), the baraat came in a grand procession to the wedding venue at a guest house in Unnao. The guest and groom were waiting for the rituals to begin as the auspicious time of ‘Tilak Ceremony’ was scheduled late at night around 4’o clock.

Later, when the ceremony started, the bride’s brother had to perform some rituals with the groom. In one of the rituals, he had to touch the groom’s feet. But the bride’s brother refused to touch the groom’s feet saying that they have old relationship.

However, the bride’s brother's refusal didn’t go down well with the groom’s family members and relatives, which led to a dispute between the baraatis and bride’s side.

The matter escalated after the bride said she wanted to stay separately with the groom from his family after the marriage.

Following this police reached the venue and tried to mediate, however, both sides refused to relent after which the wedding was called off and the baraatis returned without the bride.
