A viral video of a lone buffalo outsmarting a pride of lions and saving itself from attack by utilising a crocodile-infested river to its advantage will leave you in awe of its courage. The lone buffalo can be seen fighting off the pride of lions and escapes with no harm.

The video captured by Antoni Britz, manager at Elephant Walk Retreat of Kruger National Park in South Africa, was shared on Instagram and has taken social media by storm.

The video starts with a buffalo going to a river to drink water. Meanwhile, a dozen of lions spot the buffalo and chase it to hunt it down. However, the buffalo shows exemplary courage and charges back at the lions.

Later, it cunningly jumps into a crocodile-infested river and saves its life. Fearing to get into the river, the lions can be later seen looking at him hopelessly as the buffalo walks away in the river.

Sharing the video, Elephant Walk Retreat wrote, “The Vurhami Pride paid us a visit at Ellie Walk yesterday, they were attempting to hunt this lone buffalo… giving our guests and our staff quite a show.”

Since being shared online, the video has garnered millions of views and likes on Instagram. Social media users flooded the comment section with hilarious comments.

“Wow! What a herd, what a sight!” commented a user.

Another user commented, “It is daily workout for him.”

A third user wrote, “Ahhh!!! Will be staying at Elephant Walk Retreat soon!!!”
