A video of a Bengaluru man riding his motorbike with his girlfriend sitting on his lap has gone viral on social media. The video of the two rumoured lovebirds, recreating the iconic scene of Katrina Kaif and Hrithik Roshan in ‘Bang Bang’ has drawn criticism from all quarters.

The incident is said to have been recorded on the Hebbal flyover. Bengaluru police took cognisance after the viral video went viral and have reportedly detained the couple.

The viral video shows the man riding his bike while his girlfriend is seen sitting on his laps with her hands wrapped around his neck. As per initial reports, the biker has been identified as Silambarasen, a resident of MV Layout, Shampura, Bengaluru, as per India Today report.

Tracing the vehicle number, traffic police seized the vehicle and action against the accused will be initiated.

“We have traced the offender. We will be tracing the list of violations he has done earlier,” DCP Traffic North, Bengaluru was quoted by India Today.

The two have reportedly been booked under 279 (driving rashly or negligently so as to endanger human life) of the Indian Penal code (IPC) and sections 184 (dangerous driving), 189 (racing or speeding on public roads), 129 (not wearing a helmet while driving) and 177 (not following traffic rules and allowing someone to obstruct your vehicle control) of the Motor Vehicles Act.
