Barter system returns! Man exchanges tomatoes for liquor, video goes viral; watch

Before the invention of any monetary system, bartering was a widely practised medium across several civilisations for procuring any good or service. In this practice, the trading of goods or services between two or more parties is done without money. Instead, it involves the provision of giving of one good by one party for another good or service from another party.

Though bartering is still in practice in certain remote areas, it would certainly be shocking to witness such an incident in a city. Isn’t it!

Recently, a video has surfaced on social media that shows a bartering system. In the video, a man can be seen exchanging tomatoes for liquor at an FL retail counter. 

As seen in the video, a man asks for a liquor bottle at the counter while he holds a few tomatoes in his hand. When he is asked to make the payment, the man responds saying, “I want liquor.”

“In exchange for tomatoes, you want liquor!” the man at the counter says.

The customer instantly laughs and the man at the counter immediately agrees to give liquor in exchange of tomatoes.

Amid the surged price of tomatoes in the retail market, the demand has declined. Even the supply seems to have turned down. Exchanging tomatoes to obtain liquor is certainly strange but at the same time, it is hilarious.

The video shared on Instagram by mmanu262608 has gone viral on social media while being viewed massively. Even the comments section is flooded with hilarious comments from netizens.
