The prevailing monsoon across the country has triggered rainfall in different states. While all living beings have started heaving a sigh of relief with the plummeting temperature, rain is not the same for all. Several regions in North East India are reeling under perilous flooding triggered by heavy downpours.

Several reports have surfaced claiming loss of life and property due to the flooding. Meanwhile, the suffering of animals is no less than humans. Even several animals have either perished or been trapped due to floods.

Meanwhile, a video has surfaced on social media that shows a baby elephant being rescued from a swelling river by members of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB).

In the video, the elephant calf can be seen stuck in the middle of the river while the water current seems to be fierce. However, a group of SSB personnel are also seen holding the calf. The members can be seen putting a lot of effort to rescue the elephant from the swelling river.

Though the full video of the rescue operation is unavailable, the original video comprises several pictures of the rescue operation.

As reported, the three-four month-old baby elephant was found in a river on the Assam-Arunachal border on July 1. The calf was rescued by a team of SSB personnel in a healthy condition. They later handed over the calf to the forest department. However, the calf was yet to be reunited with its mother.

The video was shared on Twitter by Indian Forest Services (IFS) official Susanta Nanda with a caption reading: Salutations to these real-life heroes.

Meanwhile, netizens hailed the real-life heroes for rescuing the elephant calf. The video has gone viral on social media with users sharing the video massively.
