After loss in trading, father-son duo kills self by lying before running train; video goes viral

In a heartbreaking incident, a man and his son died by suicide by lying before a running train. The disturbing video of the 60-year-old man and his son lying down on the railway track has gone viral on social media platforms.

The video begins with the man and his son walking together at Bhayandar railway station in Mumbai Vasai East. They share an emotional moment before they run towards a moving train and lie down on the track. The train driver attempted to stop and slow down the train, but they were crushed to death.

According to HT reports, the man lost his wife in 2020 to Covid-19. Shockingly, the son was married just six months back. While no exact reason for the two taking the extreme step was known immediately, it is suspected that the two lost money in trading.

The Vasai GRP officials said that a probe is on to find out the exact reason of their extreme step.

“As the young man’s wife is in severe shock, we will record her statement to find out whether there were any problems in the household, forcing the father-son duo to end their lives,” HT quoted a senior railway official.

“We have found a suicide note in the father’s pocket, stating that they are not blaming anyone for their actions, and they were taking the step willingly,” he added.

The bodies have been seized and sent for post-mortem.
