They say true love has no age, and this couple, from Bihar, has certainly looked past it with more than 20 years of gap between them.

The couple, a 42-year-old teacher and his 20-year-old teacher from Bihar’s Samastipur, left behind their age gap and married each other promising a lifetime of togetherness.

A video of the wedding ceremony surfaced online leaving netizens miffed.

According to an India Times report, the couple’s love story began when 20-year-old Shweta Kumari joined English coaching lessons taught by Sangeet Kumar in Rosera Bazaar of Samastipur.

During this, the duo came close to each other, which gradually turned into deep love. They decided to make things official despite their 22-year age gap with a traditional wedding. Following which, the couple decided to marry at the Thaneshwar temple.

Reportedly, this is the teacher’s second marriage; his first wife passed away many years ago.

A video of their pheras was uploaded on Twitter, leaving the netizens divided. In the short clip uploaded on
Twitter, the two can be seen taking part in the phera ceremony, and walking in circles around a sacred fire. The wedding seems simple enough and the bride and groom can be seen wearing everyday clothes rather than bridal attires.

In the video, the couple seems extremely happy with smiles on both of their faces. Their friends and guests, who attended the marriage, can be heard hooting and celebrating their union in the background.

However, netizens did not have a pleasant reaction to the video. “Ye log rishto ke mariyada bhul rahe hai,”  wrote a netizen while another tweeted, “Aaj clear ho gya ye khawat Love is always blind 100%.”

Some netizens also said that the teacher should be put behind bars as the legal age of marriage for girls is 21 years. “Ladki ke shadi ki minimum age 21 hai, is master par FIR hona chahiye,” commented a user.
