Vigilance raids continue to probe nexus between Tito and govt babus

Kendrapara: Vigilance officials on Tuesday raided several government offices in Kendrapara as a part of their probe into allegations of undue favours extended by government babus to arrested gangster Tito.

The raids were carried out at the Kendrapara tehsil, Derabish tehsil and Mahakalpara tehsil. The municipality office in Kendrapara was also raided.

According to sources, the six-member team that conducted the raids seized a few incrementing documents belonging to 2015 and related to the gangster’s businesses and his connivance with the then officials.

The team also raided Tito’s petrol pump situated on the Kendrapara bypass. An Amin and Revenue Inspector who accompanied the team measured the area to find out any encroachments by Tito for setting up of the petrol pump.

Earlier, the vigilance sleuths had raided the RTO office in Kendrapara , Cuttack and  Chandikhole.

The raids are being carried out after the Crime Branch STF asked the anti-corruption wing to probe the alleged nexus between gangster Tito and public servants.
