According to Vastu scriptures, the best place for the kitchen is the south-east corner of the house. If for some reason it is not possible to construct kitchen in this direction, then the second important place is the air corner or north-west corner of the house.

1. In the kitchen, gas, stove and heater should be kept three inches away from the wall. The person cooking food should face east. Grinders, rice cookers, among others should be placed near the south wall. Aquaguard for drinking water in the kitchen should be placed in north or east direction.

2. If the refrigerator is placed in the kitchen, it should be avoided in the south-west or north direction.

3. Utensils used in the kitchen should be placed against the south-west wall.

4. The gas cylinder used in the kitchen should be placed in the south-east direction.

5. In the kitchen, the place for cleaning dishes should be in the north-west corner.
