YouTube has undeniably revolutionized the way we acquire new skills and knowledge. With millions of tutorials available online, people are exploring various interests and hobbies from their comfort zone; be it cooking, dancing, singing, art or beauty and fashion. However, recently, a shocking incident has come to the fore. A man from Uttar Pradesh's Mathura cut open his stomach to perform surgery on himself after watching YouTube videos and ended up in hospital.
According to the reports, Raja Babu, a 32-year-old man hailing from Sunrakh village of Mathura, experienced severe abdominal pain. However, he didn't find any relief after consulting several doctors. After watching several videos on YouTube, he finally decided to perform surgery on himself when the pain became unbearable. He purchased medicines and a surgical kit from a pharmacy. Reportedly, he bought a surgical blade, stitching materials and anaesthetic injections. He then attempted to perform surgery on himself based on what he learned from an online tutorial.
On Wednesday morning, he cut his belly open in his room to cure appendicitis without any professional medical assistance.
However, when the effect of anaesthesia wore off, he started experiencing intense pain and started screaming. Hearing his cries, the family rushed to him. They were shocked to see Raja Babu in such a condition and rushed him to the hospital.
His nephew Rahul confirmed to India Today TV, "He performed the surgery on himself after watching YouTube videos.”
Rahul, who brought Raja Babu to the hospital stated that his uncle underwent appendix surgery 18 years ago. However, he had been experiencing severe abdominal pain for the past few days. Despite consulting several doctors, his pain didn't subside. Finally, he decided to attempt surgery on himself referring to the YouTube videos.
However, as his condition worsened, Raja Babu was referred to Agra's SN Hospital for further care. He is currently under treatment.
